Iggy -- It's probably not a good idea to try to w/d from nicotine at the same time your w/d-ing from the medication. But, smoking does slow down healing, so maybe later, you might taper down on the cigarettes somewhat. Again, it doesn't have to be all or nothing -- just going down in quantity some will help your health.

"An initiation into shamanic healing means a devaluation of all values, an overturning of the profane world, a peeling away of inveterate handed-down notions of the world, liberation from everything preconceived. For that reason, shamanism is closely connected with suffering. One must suffer the disintegration of one's own system of thought in order to perceive a new world in the higher space."

Oh, my god - I somehow haven't seen this part in Francoise's post - this about the coffee. So great that Sheila has pointed it out. Oh yes, I agree whole-heartedly here. That "much" coffee may surely worsen your symptoms - I can't tolerate the smallest amount of caffeine - my system goes into a "trembling" mode for a long time if I only dared to look at the picture of coffee. Francoise, I know you like drinking it, but please consider at least going down with the amount of it. :)

Françoise, my friend, I hate to be a nag, but that's a lot of caffeine for someone who is suffering from anxiety. I realize it's probably complicated, and the caffeine serves you as an antidepressant, but what do you think about tapeing down just a bit on the the coffee drinks and seeing if that works well for you? It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Even a decrease of 20 % might take the edge off your anxiety.

You are right,Sheila. Caffeine is not so good for me but honestly I already tried to drink tea instead of coffee but I don't like it...But I shall drink only one little cup of coffee in the morning!

Well, that's a great attitude, Françoise! But, do you think it might be better to taper more slowly? Maybe go down by 20 % of your usual caffeine intake, and stay there for 2-4 weeks? You don't want to get caffeine w/d, and you don't want to exacerbate dysautonomia.

Also, what about decaf (good quality, safe method) coffee substituted for one of your regular coffees?

Also, what about coffee ice cream? We need to fatten you up! ;)

Sheila you are once more right: I have to taper slowly! No coffee cold turkey!
I use to drink decaf coffee but it seems to be too much for me.

    I don't like ice-cream...Too cold!!!

Talking of temperatures in general - how is autumn in France now, Cosette? Suprisingly, the recent days have been still very warm in here.

Sacre bleu! You don't like ice cream?! OK, I will take your serving as well as mine!

Let's see....how else can you get that coffee taste without drinking too much coffee??? Hmm. I don't know.

Are you saying decaf is too caffeinated for you?

PS May I add that, despite this over-sensitivity (especially to carbs), in the last 3-4 months or so it's managed to improve a bit.
